Plastic surgeon Dr. Joubin Gabbay joins us live from the operating room where he demonstrates a technique that uses a skin-tighten device and radiofrequency energy under the skin to tighten following a liposuction procedure.
After lipo, Dr. Gabbay explains skin will sag, especially in the arms and abdomen and this procedure can be performed instead of the patient having to undergo an arm lift or a tummy tuck. The plastic surgeon notes this option is minimally invasive and will not leave the type of scar other skin reduction procedures will.
Good candidates for this procedure include people who are in shape but have loose skin in certain areas, and those who are younger and generally healthy. Most patients recover after 3 to 5 days and Dr. Gabbay says results are seen immediately and will improve over time. The cost for the procedure typically runs a few thousand dollars.
