The host of “Survivalists” on BYUTV -- who has scaled the sometimes-deadly Mt. Everest and holds a slew of world records including being the first person in history to cross Antarctica solo, unsupported and human-powered -- tells Dr. Ian Smith his best tool to feel inspired and accomplish goals is his mind.

Colin says he uses meditation, mindset work, and visualization work to sharpen and prepare his mind. And despite his accomplishments, he says he still experiences fear, but he attempts to embrace that feeling it and he considers fear to be healthy. He tries to understand his fears, embraces them, knows when a feeling of fear might be a safety warning, and also when to push past a feat.
For the non-Mt. Everest goal seekers out there, Colin says his approach -- first imagining the goal, creating a plan on how to accomplish it, and then breaking down the steps needed to get there -- can help anyone succeed.
